IIIT Delhi Admission Experience

Founded in 2008, IIIT Delhi is a prestigious institution known for its academic excellence and technological innovation. It offers a wide range of undergraduate programs in disciplines such as Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (CSAM), Computer Science and Design (CSD), Computer Science and Social Sciences (CSSS), Computer Science and Biosciences (CSB), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Electronics and Environmental Engineering (EVE). The institute also provides research opportunities in various fields.

Admission to IIIT Delhi is highly competitive and is based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main scores. Eligible candidates can apply for the exam and participate in the centralized counseling process conducted by Joint Admission Counseling (JAC). During counseling, candidates have the opportunity to select their preferred courses. Additionally, under JAC, two other prestigious colleges, namely Delhi Technological University (DTU) and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), are included for admission.

Apart from JEE Main, IIIT Delhi also offers admission through other channels. Fifteen seats in the Computer Science and Design (CSD) program are filled through the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED). Additionally, for humanities students, there are 15 seats allocated through board examinations.

During the admission process, IIIT Delhi considers candidates’ past achievements in olympiads, sports, and coding experience, providing bonus points that enhance their chances of admission.

To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet certain criteria. They should have obtained a minimum of 70% overall in their qualifying examination, with specific relaxations for candidates from reserved categories.

Candidates need to submit various important documents during the admission process, including the seat acceptance fee payment receipt, signed registration form, filled choices, passport-sized photographs, JEE Main admit card and scorecard, marks sheet of the qualifying examination, seat allotment letter, date of birth certificate, bonus point documents (if applicable), reserved category certificates, and medical fitness certificate.

The admission process at IIIT Delhi is primarily based on JEE Main scores and the counseling conducted by the institute. Seats are allocated based on merit and the choices made by candidates during online counseling registration. Once a seat is allotted, candidates must complete the necessary formalities, including document verification and fee payment, within the stipulated time frame to secure their admission at IIIT Delhi.
