Sample Other Experience:

Hi, I’m Raj currently pursuing my B.Tech in computer science Engineering From Delhi Technological University. I’m going to share one of my biggest challenges and achievements of cracking the JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JEE) Mains in 2022. In this article, I will share my experience of preparing and appearing for this competitive exam.

The JEE Mains is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year for admission to various engineering and architecture courses in India. With more than 10 lakh students appearing for it every year. It consists of two papers: Paper 1 is for engineering aspirants, and Paper 2 is for architecture aspirants. I decided to appear for Paper 1 in 2022,  after completing my 12th grade at XYZ Public School. I started preparing for the exam in June 2021, with the help of online coaching classes, mock tests, books, and study materials. I also joined a study group with some of my friends who were also preparing for the exam. We used to discuss doubts, share tips, and motivate each other.

The main focus of my preparation strategy was to understand the concepts and fundamentals of each subject, rather than memorizing formulas or facts. To get familiar with the exam pattern, difficulty level, and time management, I also practiced solving previous years’ papers and sample papers. The JEE Mains Paper 1 was conducted in online mode, with a duration of three hours, on June 25, 2022. I appeared for the exam at ABC Centre in Delhi. Before the exam, I felt nervous but confident and attempted the questions in the order of chemistry, physics, and mathematics, as chemistry was the easiest and mathematics was the hardest for me. I solved the questions that I was sure of first and then moved on to the ones that were doubtful for me. I also kept track of time and avoided making silly mistakes. After doing my best, I hoped for a good result and checked my answer key online later that day and found that I had scored around 200+ marks out of 300.

After some days the official results were out and I got 98.44% percentile. My rank was under 20000 out of more than 10 lakh students who appeared for the exam. I was overjoyed and grateful for my achievement. This was my journey of cracking JEE Mains in 2022 and after this, I got admission to CSE in DTU.

To conclude my article, I would like to share some tips and advice for those who are preparing or planning to appear for the JEE Mains:

  • Be clear about your goal and motivation for appearing for the exam.
  • Choose your study material wisely and follow a structured study plan.
  • Focus on understanding the concepts rather than memorizing them.
  • Revise your topics regularly and make notes of important points.
  • Attempt the questions in your order of preference and avoid making silly mistakes.

Tips: Understand the basic concept of each topic.
