I had an interview with HDFC which was a campus recruiting process. I did MBA from Delhi Technological University.

Interview Process: 3 Rounds

Round 1: Aptitude Test

An aptitude test is a standardized assessment designed to measure an individual’s inherent or natural ability to perform certain tasks or acquire certain skills.

  • Verbal Reasoning: This test assesses a person’s ability to understand and analyze written information. It evaluates skills such as comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking.
  • Numerical Reasoning: This test evaluates a person’s ability to work with numbers, perform basic mathematical operations, and interpret data presented in graphs or tables.
  • Logical Reasoning: This test assesses a person’s ability to use logic and reasoning to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Data Interpretation: This test involves analyzing and interpreting data presented in various formats, such as tables, charts, and graphs.

Round 2:

The following questions were asked:

  • Are you aware of the CEO of HDFC Bank?
  • Are you aware of current banking trends?
  • What are growth areas in Banking and Finance?
  • Why do you want to work for HDFC Bank’s HR department?
  • What do you know about HDFC Bank’s HR policies and practices?
  • How will you ensure employee engagement and satisfaction in the workplace?
  • What role does HR play in supporting HDFC Bank’s business objectives?
  • Tell us about a challenging HR project you handled and how you achieved successful outcomes.
  • How will you build effective relationships with line managers and other stakeholders in HR initiatives?

Round 3:

The following questions were asked:

  • Introduction
  • Family Background
  • What do you know about Human Resources?
  • Why are you interested in this field?
  • What are your key strengths?
  • Why do you want to join HDFC?
  • What do you know about HDFC?
  • Can you describe your experience in using HR data to create reports and analyze trends?
  • What do you believe are the most critical qualities an HR professional should possess?
  • Can you explain your understanding of the role of HR in the banking industry?
  • Do you have any knowledge about HRIS (Human Resource Information System) or other HR-related software?
  • What are your strategies for attracting and retaining top talent in a competitive job market?
  • How will you handle HR-related challenges in a fast-paced and dynamic environment like the banking industry?
