EY Work Experience

In this article, I will tell you about my work experience at Ernst & Young. I’ve worked in EY for almost 2 Years. My designation in this company was Software Engineer.

Initially, I struggled a bit as the tech I was assigned to work on (Cloud/AWS) was completely new, but the support I got from the team and my counsellor is truly appreciated. Let’s have a look at some key responsibilities during my experience at EY.

Key Responsibilities

• Implemented best practices for cloud-based software development, including version control, continuous integration, and automated testing, refining processes over the two years to optimize productivity and quality.
• Collaborated extensively with product managers and stakeholders for requirement gathering and prioritization, leveraging cloud-native principles to design robust and adaptable systems.
• Architected and designed scalable and efficient solutions on cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements throughout the development process.
• Also, mentored junior team members over two years, conducting regular code reviews and providing technical guidance and support, resulting in their professional growth and increased team efficiency.
• Expertise in strategic discussions on product roadmap and technology stack evolution, aligning cloud strategies with business goals.

Pros:

• The first important pro is it gives good work-life balance to their employee.
• Provides more stability and job security compared to other big companies
• Invest in their employees’ professional development by offering training programs, mentorship opportunities, and career advancement paths.
• Provide a structured work environment with clear expectations, defined roles and responsibilities, and established processes and procedures.
• Provides hybrid mode (wfh/wfo).

Cons:

Though my overall experience was amazing it has a few cons as well.

• Growth and projects depend on your work locations.
• Limited autonomy and independence in their work.
• Rigid work schedule.
