In this article, I am excited to recount my transformative experience during my relocation to Noida for industrial training with CETPA Infotech Pvt. Ltd. As the end of my b.tech pre-final year approached, myself and three of my closest friends made a collective decision to enroll in the software training company located in Noida. During the selection process, we underwent an online test comprising aptitude questions, which we all successfully qualified. This process equipped us with the necessary skills to commence our training journey with CETPA Infotech Pvt. Ltd. Our objective was clear: to undergo 1.5 months of intensive training in the domain of advanced Java, and we were determined to embark on this journey together.

At that time, I had little to no knowledge about how to navigate the process of relocating to another city — from transportation to finding accommodation, I knew nothing. Nevertheless, fueled by our shared motivation for learning, growth, and experience, we set forth from our homes, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

We reached Ghaziabad station by train and then took an auto to reach near the company in Noida. We then started searching for our home for 1.5 months. We knew that we had to live there for 1.5 months, so it should match our conditions like budget, comfort, cleanliness, and safety. We didn’t compromise on anything; we roamed there until evening to find our expected place. After searching numerous PGs and flats, we finally found a recently built PG that matched our expectations. This achievement was possible only because we had each other’s company.

We then spent our night restfully, knowing that from tomorrow we would be joining the training. The next morning, we were refreshed and ready to begin. A few of our other classmates had just arrived from their homes to attend the same training program, and they were also searching for PGs. However, due to the limited time on the day of joining, they didn’t search as extensively as we did and settled for any PG they could find.

After some time, they realized how much better our PG was compared to theirs. Their PG lacked food facilities, cleanliness, and even a cooler to beat the summer heat. They resorted to booking a food lunch box delivery service for the month and paid for it in advance. However, after 1-2 days, no food reached them, and the service company didn’t respond to their calls. We decided to visit their address together, but on reaching there, we found no trace of such a service. It became evident that they had been deceived by the service provider.

We thanked God that the time we invested in searching for our PG was worth it.

Amidst the challenges and triumphs of our training program, we discovered a profound sense of camaraderie and friendship that enriched our experience beyond measure. Living together in the same room allowed us to bond on a deeper level. We played games, studied, and even prayed together, forging a strong connection that would last a lifetime.

Our days were filled with rigorous training sessions at the office, where our dedicated trainer guided us towards mastery in Java programming. His expertise and encouragement fueled our determination, turning us into proficient Java experts by the end of the program.

On weekends, we ventured into Delhi by metro to explore its renowned landmarks and attractions. From offering Friday prayers at Jama Masjid to exploring the vibrant ambiance of DLF and Pacific malls, every outing was a new adventure filled with laughter and camaraderie.

As we immersed ourselves in the rich tapestry of Delhi’s culture and history, we felt a profound sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. This 45 days was not just a successful training program; it was a testament to our resilience, friendship, and shared passion for learning and exploration.

Reflecting on our experience, I recommend others to undergo a similar journey before relocating for a job.

We learned:

  • Relocation Skills: Mastering the process of moving to a new city for work.
  • Budget Management: Staying within budget while maintaining comfort.
  • Vigilance: Being wary of fraudulent services and conducting thorough research.
  • Comfortable Accommodation: Prioritizing comfort, cleanliness, and safety in housing choices.

Additionally, we gained:

  • Friendship Bonds: Strengthening friendships through shared experiences.
  • Hostel Life Enjoyment: Appreciating hostel life despite being day scholars.
  • Successful Transition: Marking a fulfilling end to our engineering journey.
  • Confidence Boost: Gaining the confidence to relocate alone for future opportunities.
