It was monsoon, I had just passed 12th grade a couple of months ago. I was excited about my further studies. It didn’t take that much time to choose the technical field as my next field of education. I quickly go up on the internet and search for engineering and technical colleges near me. Well, it didn’t go as expected, there wasn’t a college near me. The nearest college was about 1 hour’s travel by railway.

Somehow, I convinced my parents about this field of study. Later, I got to know from a friend with similar interests that there is this exam called the CET exam. The exam will be in May, so I have to study while I can. But there’s a problem, I was so excited about coding and technical stuff that I completely skipped the syllabus of the exam and all I did was learn to code, to program. A night before the exam, I was called by my friend. He was talking about how he studied and what he had studied. And I was like, “Dude, this exam is for the technical field, what’s the point in learning this crap subject like Physics and Chemistry? Why??”. He then makes me understand about the syllabus of the exam and why it is necessary. I was helpless. What could I do? There’s no way I am passing the exam, I thought.

On the exam day, I have already prepared myself for the worst. The exam was MCQ (multiple choice questions) and have to choose from 4 options: a, b, c and d. All I did was mark “c” as an answer for all questions. When it was finished, I told my mom that this exam would be a failed attempt. I was hopeless, I had no hope of passing this exam.

The day when everything changed: Result day. Somehow I got 88 percentile, which was enough for an average college at Mumbai University. I couldn’t believe my eyes, not even my friend who studied well got this much. I got admission to that college.

Conclusion:

To conclude, I would say this experience was awesome and helped me know better myself.

Trust the Process:

I will discuss more in next blog, till then, keep learning, peace.
