BNY Mellon Interview Experience for SDE (On-Campus) 2024

Online Assessment:

This was an online coding round conducted on the Hackerrank platform and consisted of 4 questions.

I could do 3 Questions (all the Test Cases passed) and hardcoded some test cases for the last question.

A lot of Students applied and finally, 23 students were selected for Interviews, I was one of them.

Round-1(Technical Interview):

Began with introductions and a coding question- Insertion Sort and Quick Sort and one more sorting question on Merge sort. Then he asked me about my projects and detailed discussion on technologies I have used.

Moreover, he asked me some general questions like how Whatsapp works, then he asked about security methods that I’ve used in my project.

He asked some DBMS questions –

1. Difference between SQL and NoSQL
2. Why I’ve used MongoDB instead of SQL in my project.

Project based questions –

1. Motivation behind the project.
2. How security is managed
3. What are the other alternatives for backend development.
4. API Security
5. Why you chose Node js for backend development?
6. Why MERN Stack ?
7. Advantages of using MongoDB
8. UI/UX
9. Deployment of Project
10. How to deploy and where you’ve deployed the project?

Round-2(Technical Interview + HR): ( Online Interview )

Started with introductions, he asked coding question and told me just give the approach – Question Based on queue !

HR –

1. What do you know about BNY Mellon ?
2. Proud moment for you ?
3. Where do you want to see yourself in next 5 years ?
4. What progress have you done in past 6 months ?

Then he asked me if I’ve any question for him ?

I asked 3 questions !

Interviewer were very supportive and my 1st round was ran nearly for 1 Hour and 2nd for 30 – 35 minutes.

Verdict – Selected !
