Recently Whatfix visited my university campus to offer a 1-year internship with a pre-placement offer for the role of solution engineer.

and this article is all about the route that I cover from 1st round till get hired by the company.

Round-1 (CV Shortlisting)

  • The first round is basically a CV shortlisting round which they do by default and if your CV got shortlisted then you will get a chance to sit for the online test.
  • Tips: Mention all skillsets required by the company as well as some good projects to increase your chances.

Round-2 (Online Test)

  • All those students who got shortlisted appear in the online test whose duration is around 1 hour. It was organized on HackerEarth Platform.
  • The online test contains 30 questions, which are divided into 2 sections i.e; Coding question and MCQ
  • It contains 2 coding questions and 28 Multiple choice questions, both coding questions are based on dynamic programming ( we can solve it using a brute force approach also but to have an efficient solution and to pass all test cases we use DP ).

Note: According to me coding questions were not too tough as I have a good knowledge of DSA and had been practicing it for 3 semesters of my B-Tech.

Tips: To solve all the questions or to clear any online test of any company you should have done regular practice on any platform, I use Geek for Geeks to solve problems and also took part in weekly contests that enhance my confidence.

  • 28 MCQs were based on the basic to advance topics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • I was able to complete the test in 30 minutes.
  •  Have your basic cleared by taking the mock test on a gfg or any other platform

Round-3 (Technical Interview Round-1)

  • After 3-4 days I got the notification that I have cleared the test and scheduled for Technical Interview (Round 1)
  • The interviewer was a very nice guy and it all started with his and my introduction.
  • Then after some casual questions about my place and all the actual technical interview got started, He asked me about the projects that I have mentioned on my CV and ask around 5-6 questions from them in detail in order to know that in actual I have created them and have a better understanding.
  • Then he ask me some theoretical questions about the DSA and then started with the Front-end technologies
  • He asks me around 9-10 questions on Javascript and HTML as well as CSS and gives me a task to perform.
  • After all, I notice that he is taking an interest in me and my interview ended with some behavioral questions.

Tips

  • Prepare your introduction well as it decides where your interview is going sometimes it is the deciding factor, so practice it and try to deliver it seamlessly and make it interesting.
  •  You should know each and every word of your Resume including detailed knowledge about all products you have mentioned there.
  •  Be confident and have a smile on your face all time.

Round-4 (Managerial Round)

  • Basic questions about team management and team conflict.
  • What problems did you face in doing projects technologically wise and managing wisely too?
  • He gave me instants which can arise during working in a team and asked what will you do in them.
  • Some discussions over what technologies I know.
  • Which project do you like the most and why?
  • And at last, give me a task to perform using javascript easy task.

Round-5 (HR Round)

  • Tell me something about yourself.
  • What do know about our company?
  • What differentiates you from others?
  • Tell me about your experience when you have worked in a team and how you get it.
  • Tell me about your strength and weakness
  • Why would you like to join our company only
  • Is it possible for you to relocate to Bangalore?
  • Do you have any Location constraints?

Tips: Know yourself before any interview. Be calm & answer politely and always be well prepared for all the round.

Important Tip: Always Know everything about the company whose interview you are going to give be aware of its vision, work, and all, and in all rounds whenever a behavioral question is asked try to frame an answer that revolves around your company’s vision, and work.
