Wells Fargo Interview Experience for Lead Data Engineer FTE

I got a referral for the Lead Data Engineer position at Wells Fargo through a former colleague who currently works at the company. The referral helped fast-track my application process, and I received an email from the HR team to schedule on-site interviews.

Technical Interview:

There were 2 interviewers on the panel. I felt they were not interested in taking the interview. It was vague and they asked very general questions which are too basic for senior-level data engineers.

Questions:

• Elaborate your experience with Python in data analytics.
• How do you ensure data quality and governance in your data engineering processes?
• Give an example of your database design skills.
• Explain the steps you follow during ETL design and implementation.
• How to handle complex data scattered across various data sources during data integration?
• Do you have experience with Power BI and SSRS? Elaborate.
• How have you provided leadership and insights in your previous analytical projects?

HR Interview:

Questions:

• How do you handle challenging situations and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment?
• Rate your communication skills on a level of 1-10.
• What do you do to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering and analytics?
• How do you see yourself contributing to the company’s goals?
