“Scientists study the world as it is, engineers create the world that never has been”

Hello geeks! In this article I’ll be sharing my university’s admission experience.

Lucknow University, officially known as the University of Lucknow, is a renowned and prestigious institution of higher education located in the city of Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1921, it is one of the oldest universities in India and holds a significant place in the country’s academic history. The Faculty of Engineering & Technology was re-established in 2017, as one of the faculties of the University of Lucknow. The vision of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FoET) is to be globally renowned for imparting quality engineering education in pioneering interdisciplinary technology. Recently Lucknow University received an NAAC A++ grade which has attracted various students to take admission in the university.

Eligibility Criteria:

To pursue B.Tech. from Lucknow University Candidates must have completed their 10+2 class with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and scored a minimum of 55% aggregate from a recognized board. The student also has to appear in JEE Mains examination.

Admission process:

To get admission, the student has to take part in UPTAC counselling which is conducted for various government and private colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The counselling is done on the basis of JEE Mains score. It is a four-round counselling process, by the end of which the student can get their deserving branch according to their choice list and their JEE mains score. I personally kept the computer science branch on top, which was allotted to me in round 1 itself.

About Entrance Examination:

One has to appear in JEE Mains examination which is conducted all over India for a number of Engineering Colleges including IIT’s, NIT’s and IIIT’s. Very few people are aware of the fact that there are a number of state colleges which take admission on the basis of JEE scorecard. JEE Mains exam consists of 3 subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. It is a computer-based test of 300 marks(100 marks each subject). The overall syllabus is topics covered in PCM of the 11th and 12th class.

After the Admission process:

After the counselling is over one has to go for physical reporting with all the essential documents like marksheet, passing certificate, JEE scorecard, seat allocation letter, etc. I remember how excited I was for this day and so is everyone as it is the first day we get to officially visit our college as a student. My reporting went quite smoothly as did not take a lot of time. One piece of advice I would like to give is that make sure you have all the necessary documents and double-check it from the official website’s brochure. Keep the documents ready a few days before reporting and avoid last-minute hassle.

Once the reporting is over you are all set to enter in university as an engineering student!

My thoughts:

Overall for me, the admission experience was an incredible journey which is going to be a core memory of my life. Pursuing B.Tech. from the computer science branch was all I wanted from the beginning. Besides, Lucknow University being a government university having NAAC A++ grading gives various excellent opportunities and quality education. I also got a review from my seniors before taking admission where they mentioned that the university has grown a lot in the past few years. Definitely we expect further growth in coming years so it is going to be a great choice for students to pursue B.Tech. from Lucknow University.

Well considering all these factors I chose this university. I hope that I was ab,le to help you if you are thinking of pursuing btech from Lucknow University.

All the best!
