Google Releases Studio Bot – Game-Changing AI Coding Bot for Android Developers

Along with Live Edit, Google is introducing a variety of developer efficiency enhancements to Android Studio beta. As they make modifications to Compose UI, developers will be able to view how the user interface looks on a real device or an emulator. By reducing interruptions when you update your Compose UI and validating those changes on an active device, Live Edit keeps you in the zone. You can use it in manual mode to specify the interval between updates for the running app or in automatic mode to update the running app in response to changes you make to the code. Android Studio Giraffe Beta supports Live Edit, while the Hedgehog release adds new enhancements to error management and reporting.

This month, Amazon made CodeWhisperer available to developers, while earlier this year, Microsoft enhanced GitHub Copilot with a ChatGPT-like helper. Despite being exclusively useful for Android developers, Studio Bot has a considerably smaller user base than the other coding helpers on Amazon and GitHub. Only Google Cloud subscribers may access Duet AI, a new coding tool from Google, but it could help bridge the gap.
