Shri Shanta Vidyalaya Campus Experience

In the beautiful village of Siolim, this school was an landmark in my life that left an permanent mark on my educational journey. The school building was big and beautiful, besides it had a huge playground that was sometimes shared by grazing cattle, which created a blend of nature and academics together. The school was surrounded by green landscapes, which included cashew tree plantation that belonged to the locals. During the monsoon season, the presence of peacocks in the campus added a touch of magic in our day to day lives.

At the start, the school’s infrastructure was not that good, but it underwent gradual improvements over time. By the time I reached the 10th grade, a new building had been added successfully, it had three classrooms that was modern and comfortable. One of the classrooms served as a science lab, where we indulged into interesting science experiments under the guidance of our teachers, which ignited curiosity in subject.

I remember my first experience with computers, where we first learned the basics on a black board. Our computer teacher would draw interface and icons on the board and briefly explain their functionalities. Since then, I now take pride of the fact that the school has evolved to have well-equipped computer labs, which enables students to experience the features of technology and stay ahead in this ever-changing digital world.

One of the school’s best features was a beautiful garden within the school premise. During certain lectures, we had the opportunity to indulge in gardening, nurturing and taking care of various plants, watering them, and even planting new ones. These activities instilled in us appreciation for nature and provided us with valuable life lessons.

Other than academics, the school is a vibrant hub of cultural festivities all through the year. We together celebrated festivals like Ekadashi, Nagpanchami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, and many others, which brought the campus with colours, traditions, and communal harmony. The school took an active approach to make the students’ learning experiences better by organizing science camps and an number of other activities that encouraged our curiosity and courage.

Taking part in extracurricular activities and events was a major part of my school life, and the annual day celebrations was the spotlight. During this event, students showcased their various talents by doing traditional dances, plays, and musical performances, which left the audience in great admiration. The annual day was also used as a stage to felicitate the school toppers, which served as an inspiration for everyone to seek excellence in every aspect of our lives.

As I look back at those childhood school days, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude. It was not just a place of my education, but a great environment that fostered my overall growth and development. The beautiful surroundings, the vibrant festivities, and various opportunities to explore things other academics made my journey at this school a great and truly unforgettable experience.
