SAT Exam Pattern 2024: The present SAT exam, which has gone digital, tests two primary sections: reading and writing (RW) and mathematics. Both RW and Math portions are assessed independently on a scale of 200 to 800. The questions on the SAT exam in the digital version are multiple-choice, and for some of the maths problems, applicants must write an answer rather than select one. One of the primary benefits of the new SAT format is that the ‘no negative marking’ system is maintained. The SAT exam format 2024 has seen a handful of changes: the overall SAT exam timing has been decreased, the use of calculators has been permitted for all Math questions, and there is only one combined Reading & Writing section.

SAT Adaptive Testing Format

The SAT is adaptive, meaning that depending on how well a candidate performs, the questions can be medium, moderate, hard, etc. in difficulty.

What is the Process for SAT Adaptive Testing?

There are two modules in each segment.

Module 1: There are a variety of easy, hard, and difficult questions in Module 1.

Module 2: Depending on how well the candidate performed in Module 1, Module 2’s questions vary in complexity.

Both strategies have distinct advantages and are equally effective in terms of quantitative rewards. Many students may find it difficult at times to take the SAT exam. As a result, candidates should take as many SAT Mock Tests / SAT Practice Papers as feasible in order to self-evaluate their preparations and sit for the SAT Exam.

Until February 2023, the SAT exam pattern remained unchanged; however, with the introduction of the digital SAT, a new SAT exam pattern was implemented. The SAT exam format for the digital test is currently available outside of the United States. The United States will observe SAT Digital beginning in 2024.
