I applied for the SAP Scholar Program through my college and underwent an online coding assessment on January 26, 2024, using the SHL platform. The coding questions were relatively straightforward: sorting an array from 0 to k and k+1 to the end, and counting orders with specific discount conditions. Out of 90 participants, 40 were selected for the interview rounds.

The technical rounds were scheduled for February 1, 2024. On the previous day, we received a email from HR explaining the interview process and time slots. Each candidate was assigned an identification number from 1-40. The process began on Microsoft Teams at 8 AM, with specific time slots for groups to join the lobby. I joined the process at 1 PM, and the interviews started at Room no 5 Teams link.

Technical Round 1:

The first interviewer began with a brief introduction, followed by questions about my projects, data structures, and algorithms. We discussed SAP Labs, my family background, and my choice of the software field. The interview touched on DBMS, AI, and ML. It lasted for 30-35 minutes, and I received a selection mail for the second round around 2 PM.

Technical Round 2:

Joining the student lobby at 2:15 PM, I endured a wait of around 3.5 hours before my interview at 6 PM. The second round involved questions about my projects, problem-solving skills (reverse a string using two pointers), DBMS concepts, Normalization types of normalisation,Difference between HTTP and HTTPS ,REST API,Firebase. Difference between static memory and dynamic memory,Garbage collector OOPs, and HR-related queries. The interviewer expressed satisfaction with my answers, recommended me to HR, and concluded the interview by 6:40 PM.

Around 7 PM, while some friends received emails for the next round, I learned that I wasn’t selected for the final HR round. Only 9 candidates proceeded to the third round, and ultimately, only one secured the position.

Reflecting on the experience, I am uncertain about the reasons behind not advancing to the final round. Despite the positive feedback, I was not selected as a Scholar at SAP Labs.
