My admission to PSIT coincided with the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the circumstances, I embarked on my educational journey in September-October. Upon arrival at the campus with my family, we were directed to the Town Hall of PSIT for admission formalities. After a wait of 2-3 hours, I completed the registration process and verified the required documents after submitting the fee, with the assurance that any missing documents could be submitted later.

The first semester commenced with a tour of the campus, introducing us to essential facilities like the infirmary, canteen, and library. We asked to submit our original documents in the first semester, and we received our original documents after 1-2 semesters, the initial days were marked by the excitement of exploring a new environment amidst new faces.

The transition to the second semester was marked by the onset of online classes due to the pandemic, disrupting the usual campus routine. The subsequent years saw a rigorous academic schedule with no respite, characterized by constant notebook checks, syllabus completion, and project work.

In the third year, some students secured off-campus internships and job opportunities, and in the fourth year more students got placed but it was a recession, leading to uncertainties in job placements. Many companies like Happiest Mind, Cedcoss, and Atlassian gave offers and internships but then took their offer back or stopped the hiring process in the middle.

In the first two years, there was no event or fest. Because of corona, even we don’t get the fresher party.

In the third and fourth years, there were moments of celebration and camaraderie through events like Ignitia (2-day fest) and performances by renowned artists like Kailash Kher, Harshit saxena, lagori band, afaat band. In Iginita there are many events for students and it looks like a festival.

The campus boasted a green and clean environment with an impressive infrastructure, but strict discipline was enforced, including rules against phone usage in class, ragging, and damaging campus property, with fines imposed for violations.

In hindsight, PSIT provided a conducive environment for learning and personal development, with dedicated faculty members encouraging students to think outside the box. While the stringent rules and regulations posed challenges, they also instilled a sense of discipline and resilience essential for navigating future adversities.

Pros:

  • Dedicated faculty eager to teach beyond the syllabus
  • Opportunities for learning and personal growth
  • Vibrant campus environment with events and performances
  • Corporate trainer for verbal, quant, and reasoning.

Cons:

  • Minimum 90% attendance and disciplinary rules.
  • Limited flexibility in the academic schedule. No free lecture.
  • Challenges in communication with higher authorities.

Despite its shortcomings, PSIT equipped me with valuable lessons on survival and resilience, preparing me for the challenges that lie ahead in the future.
