During my first year at Poornima College of Engineering in Jaipur, studying in the Computer Science and Engineering branch, I had a fulfilling college experience. Here’s a summary of my experience with exams, interviews, and the criteria for admission:

Admission Criteria:

I got admission to Poornima College of Engineering through the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP) counseling. REAP is a centralized counseling process conducted by the Government of Rajasthan for admission to engineering colleges in the state. The college is affiliated with Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), which oversees the academic programs and curriculum.

Exams:

Throughout the first year, we had regular internal exams as well as semester-end exams. The internal exams were conducted by the college to assess our understanding of the subjects taught in each semester. These exams helped us prepare for the semester-end exams, which were conducted by the university. The semester-end exams evaluated our knowledge and skills in a comprehensive manner.

As part of the admission process, I did not have to go through a separate interview. The admission was solely based on my JEE rank and the REAP counseling process. However, during my interactions with faculty members and seniors, I had the opportunity to discuss my interests, goals, and aspirations. They provided valuable guidance and shared insights into the field of computer science and engineering.

College Environment:

The college provided a conducive environment for learning and personal growth. The faculty members were highly experienced and dedicated to imparting quality education. They encouraged us to actively participate in class discussions, ask questions, and seek clarification whenever needed. The curriculum was designed to provide a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The college also organized various workshops, seminars, and guest lectures by industry experts to enhance our understanding of the industry trends and technologies. These sessions not only expanded our knowledge but also gave us a glimpse into real-world applications of our coursework.

Additionally, the college had well-equipped labs and computer facilities that allowed us to gain hands-on experience in programming, software development, and other practical aspects of the field. The college also encouraged us to participate in coding competitions, hackathons, and technical fests, which provided opportunities to showcase our skills and learn from peers.

The college had a supportive and inclusive community. I made friends with my classmates and seniors, who were always ready to lend a helping hand and share their experiences. The college also had dedicated placement and training cells that provided guidance and support for internships, placements, and career development.

In conclusion, my first year at Poornima College of Engineering was a transformative experience. The college provided a strong foundation in academics, practical learning opportunities, and a supportive community. The admission process was based on JEE rank and REAP counseling, and the college maintained affiliation with Rajasthan Technical University. Overall, Poornima College of Engineering provided an enriching environment for my academic and personal growth in the field of computer science and engineering.
