PayPal Interview Experience for Data Analyst Intern (Off-Campus) 2023

Details:

I am a computer Science pre-final year undergrad at NIT Jalandhar. I applied on the PayPal careers portal.

I received the test link within a week of applying.

1. ONLINE ASSESSMENT:  It consisted of 10 MCQs and a coding question in Python. The MCQs revolved around Machine Learning concepts, SQL, Probability, and Statistics. The Coding question was based on Object-oriented Programming in Python (Easy to Medium). I was able to complete all the problems within the stipulated time of 1 hour.
   
2. Technical Round  (Online Interview): After a month, I received a mail from the recruiter stating that I have cleared the online assessment. They scheduled a technical interview after 3 days the mail. The Interviewer was very supportive and chill. I was asked questions based on my resume and my projects . Further, I was asked about Probability and Statistics, Machine Learning, and Python concepts. Then he provided me a link to Hackerrank IDE where there was a SQL question and I had to write the query. I was able to write the query and pass all the test cases. Then there were follow-up questions on the same. In the end, I was asked an easy Data Structure question and he asked me to code it. I was able to write the code efficiently and he was satisfied with my approach.

3. Hiring Manager Round (Online Interview) : On the same day of the technical interview I received a mail stating that I have cleared the first round and they scheduled the next round of interviews for me i.e. the Hiring Manager Round in 3-4 hours. The interviewer was very friendly and questions were again based on Statistics, SQL, Machine Learning, and Probability. I was made to write SQL queries (Medium to tough),I was able to solve most of them but not all. The interviewer told me that he would ask for a case study in the end but due to a shortage of time, it was skipped.
