Are you curious about what it’s like to interview with Optym? Let me share my first-hand experience with you! In early September, Optym visited our campus for several job positions. For MTech Computer Science, they conducted a drive that included a written test and technical interview, both held online.

Round 1: This Round was a breeze with verbal, logical thinking, and aptitude questions. Next up was the technical section which had MCQs in Computer Networks, DBMS, OS, and DSA, along with two coding questions. While one coding question was straightforward, the other was a graph problem of medium to high difficulty level. But thanks to my preparation, I was able to answer all MCQs, one SQL query, and one coding question, which helped me move to the next round.

Round 2: This Round was the technical interview, where my projects and thesis topic took center stage. The interviewer asked about the real-world applications and pressing problems related to my projects, and how I handled them. They also inquired about my college courses and asked questions about them. The highlight of the interview was when the interviewer asked me to write the median for the data stream problem. With confidence and clarity, I tackled the problem and gave my best shot.

The results were declared the following day, and I was thrilled to be among the chosen few! Here are some tips that helped me during the interview: be confident and articulate, even if you don’t know the answer; describe your technological projects clearly, and make sure to prepare well beforehand. Overall, my interview experience with Optym was challenging, yet rewarding, and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead!
