I studied in Kumta village of Karnataka, and till the 10th standard, we knew next we would get into College that’s it.

After coming to College we know we have board exams. And from the period of our 10th final exams COVID-19 pandemic started!

It continued till the end of our 1st year of PUC. Frankly, I got to know about these Compitative exams by the middle of 1st PUC, and in our year there are some reduced chapters(only for board exams), till then I was just focusing on my board syllabus only and not beyond. However, I got lectures as a very well-practical concept teaching person. Even through the pandemic time, Online classes, managed to provide us with interactive teaching which was a boon for us, Weekly competitive MCQ-type tests in the App of our College are the best way to practice MCQs.

From 2nd PUC I seriously started aiming for NEET and JEE, As I opted PCMB course I have both Biology and Mathematics subjects, so can appear for both competitive exams.

Even though many people suggest we should try preparing for only one exam, I do not think that is required because, If we have an interest in learning we can learn anything whether it is a distinct or unrelated subject, it will not be pressure for us.

I used free online resources such as the PW YouTube channel and many more YouTube channels. Do not take any other separate coaching or paid courses. I think those who are preparing for NEET or JEE can blindly follow prescribed textbooks line by line.

If you are strong with fundamentals you can crack any competitive exams easily, many will feel difficulty because they memorize the concepts instead they should understand concepts deeply by asking why. how? where? for what? questions.

Even the JEE questions are easy only but at the application level, so understanding concepts is very much important I would say. With the consistent effort of mine and support from my family and college I was able to clear JEE Mains and eligible to take Advance. But I did not write Advance as we need to move to a different city to take the exam.

And got a decent rank in NEET but can’t get an MBBS seat, but yes I would have got BAMS / BHMS seats.

Truly I would say that preparing for this Competitive exam taught me that:

  1. We need to have patience to practice a lot.
  2. No matter what may be the result, our work is only to try and do our best.
  3. Whatever happens, it happens for good.
  4. You do not need to stop working until you are satisfied with your work.
  5. Learn to gain knowledge, not to gain marks or ranks.
  6. Respect your teachers and focus on their words, automatically you will love the subject and learn a lot.
  7. Our failures teach us that, we are actively learning, not static.

A fun fact about me is that I will not watch time When I’m working with anything that interests me, and not hear any sounds of my surroundings, nor even anybody call me loudly. This thing happened to me many times.

All the Best to EveryOne, who is appearing for Competitive exams, I hope you all are coming with flying colours and in LIFE for sure.
