I took JEE in 2009 and somehow was able to get into an IIT. But the preparation strategy is quite simple which I will discuss in detail down the line. A common misconception among students is the marks that we get in the board exams don’t tell us about the ability to crack the JEE Exam. The marks in board exams are quite often due to reproducing the same content as that in the textbook (there will be a few students who write the same content, but they learn the subject). Again, learning the subject doesn’t mean we know the definitions of the physical terms or the ability to substitute the values in a problem. It’s the ability to think and arrive at a solution for any problem that we come across. Initially, I was the same as most of the students who don’t have problem-solving abilities but over some time with consistent efforts and self-interest, I developed problem-solving skills by the end of the 11th.

Regarding the strategy I would suggest we follow one good book for two years and complete every question in the book with less help from the Internet as the moment we start looking for help from the Internet or friends, we stop to think. One of the problems in the majority of the students is taking the exam too seriously which is the main reason for bad performance during the actual exam. On a short note, follow the following points for stress-free preparation.

  • Be consistent in working on problems daily.
  • Be crystal clear about the concepts.
  • Don’t take the exam over seriously.
  • Be Relaxed during the exam for the best performance from you.
