Akatsuki is one of the most dangerous and fearsome criminal organizations in the whole Naruto series. It was started by Yahiko, Nagato and Konan. But soon after the death of Yahiko, Nagato became the commander to carry out the plans. The organization comprised many skilled rogue shinobis from different villages. The organization faced many troubles in their way but tackled every one of them. Each member of the organization had a unique and different level of skill which made them capable of taking an army all by themselves. Here is a list of the five strongest Akatsuki members.

Deidara

Deidara a rogue ninja of stone village used to make explosives for terrorist organizations before joining Akatsuki. He had a mouth on each of his hands, and by feeding them clay he could make explosives. He trounced Gaara of the sand and kidnapped him. His fight with Sasuke is also one of the most interesting fights in the series. He even found a technique to bypass genjutsu. He gave a very tough fight to Sasuke and gave him a near-death experience before exploding himself as a bomb.

Konan

Also Known As – Lady Angel

Konan one of the founding members of Akatsuki is remembered for her intense fight with Obito. She was one of the three orphans who was trained by Jiraiya during the third great ninja war. She acted as an advisor to Nagato and asked her to believe in Naruto during his fight in the Leaf village. She had the ability to mix her chakra in the papers manipulate it and do an explosion. She could avoid any danger by transforming herself into those paper pieces. She was the one to defeat Sasori and get him to join Akatsuki. She had nearly killed Obito in the fight but he survived only by using Izanagi.

Zetsu

Zetsu wasn’t much of a fighting type but his main expertise was in spying, infiltration, acting as a messenger, and collecting information. In the fourth great ninja war, white Zetsu made an army of clones to fight the allied shinobi force. His clones were made to summon the dead shinobis. Zetsu was the one who made Madara go on the wrong path by carving false prophecies on the Uchiha stone. Black Zetsu had the ability to leech onto powerful people.

Kisame Hoshigaki

Also Known As – Tailless tailed beast

Kisame Hoshigaki often referred to as the Tailless-tailed beast established himself as one of the strongest members of Akatsuki. He was called a tailless-tailed beast because of his large chakra reserves and power. He is able to merge himself with his blade called Samehada. He was trained by one of the Seven deadly swordsmen of the mist. He was known for killing his partners. In Akatsuki, he was partnered with Itachi. He was defeated by Might Guy’s seventh gate of wonder. He had the ability to summon sharks for sending and receiving messages. After getting captured, he used the water prison technique to commit suicide.

Orochimaru

Also Known As – Sannin

Nature Type – Earth release, fire release and water release

Orochimaru is one of the most knowledgeable shinobi in the series who had knowledge about every justsu. He was declared a rogue ninja after the third Hokage found his inhuman experiments. His goal was to become immortal for which he wanted Itachi’s body. When he didn’t get it he tried to get Sasuke’s body.

Nagato

Also Known As – Pain

Nature Type – Fire release, water release, lightning release, earth release, wind release and yang release

Debut Episode – Naruto Shippuden Episode – 128

Nagato used chakra rods to make six paths of pain. Those six bodies Rinnegan were connected to one another and each one had a different ability. He crushed the leaf village and killed Kakashi very easily. He killed Jiraiya in his sage mode who is considered a legendary sanin. Even sage mode Naruto wasn’t able to defeat him. Naruto defeated all the six paths of pain but couldn’t take down Nagato. Nagato in his last moments revived everyone he killed during his attack in the leaf village.

Itachi Uchiha

Also Known As – Clan killer

Itachi Uchiha a prodigy and often regarded as the god of genjutsu was one of the most dangerous shinobi in the entire series. He killed every member of his clan except his brother in order to protect the village. He could have easily defeated Sasuke but didn’t. His skill and technique level were on a whole different level. He had mangekyou sharingan in both his eyes. He could use Susanoo, Amaterasu, Izanagi, and Izanami. After getting revived during the fourth great ninja war he defeated Kabuto.

Shin Uchiha

Also Known As – Orochimaru’s test subject

Shin Uchiha was one of the experimental subjects of Orochimaru. He had a lot of Sharingan eyes all over his body. He had a unique ability to go under tissue and organ transplant without any fear of rejection. Once, he became obsessed with the Uchiha clan especially Itachi so he took Uchiha surname. He hated Sasuke for killing Itachi and wanted to take revenge on him, so he kidnapped Sharada (the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura). He even had mangekyou sharingan in his right eye.

Obito Uchiha

Obito Uchiha was believed to be dead during the third great ninja war. But he was saved by Madara using Hashirama cells. He was undoubtedly the strongest member of Akatsuki. He killed Konan to get rinnegan. His mangekyou sharingan had a power called Kamui through which he could send his body or other things in a Kamui dimension. During the fourth great ninja war, he was fighting with Naruto, Might Guy, and Kakashi at the same time toe to toe without even getting a sweat. Later in the war, he became the jhinchuuriki of ten tails and bypassed every single shinobi in the Allied shinobi force. He easily overwhelmed the Allied shinobi force.

Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha the legendary leader of the Uchiha clan was the main antagonist of the show. In the fourth great ninja war, even the combined effort of all the previous Hokage wasn’t enough to stop him. Madara had proficiency in all the chakra releases. He was a one-man army. Even the tailed beasts weren’t able to even give a scratch on his body. After getting Hashirama’s cells, he was able to use wood release too. His best fight in the series is his fight against the five kages where he disrespected and brutally defeated all of them.
