Synopsis – According to a press release by VNTANA, the partnership will let brands upload the 3D models of products they produce on Facebook and Instagram and easily convert the models into ads. Also, the ads will be as similar as earlier in terms of appearing in the feed of Facebook and Instagram.

Meta (formerly known as Facebook) has closed a partnership deal with an e-commerce technology company VNTANA. The deal will reportedly make it assessable for brands to run their 3D (three-dimensional) ads (advertisements) on the Meta-owned social media platforms Facebook and Instagram.

According to a press release by VNTANA, the partnership will let brands upload the 3D models of products they produce on Facebook and Instagram and easily convert the models into ads. Also, the ads will be as similar as earlier in terms of appearing in the feed of Facebook and Instagram. However, the users will be able to tap and interact with the product by moving it at desired angles.

Talking about Augmented Reality (AR) in terms of advertisements, Ashley Crowder, Co-Founder, and CEO, VNTANA, said,

3D and AR technology in online ads is the next frontier for brands looking to connect with the digital consumer and is a great first step into the metaverse.

Crowder furthermore added,

Collaborating with Meta to offer brands 3D deployment across its advertising platform is another move forward for VNTANA to democratize 3D for the retail industry. This technology delivers benefits to both the retailer and the consumer, as it gives the consumer a better understanding of the product.

It is important to note that Meta recently had announced its partnership with AR companies Modiface and PerfectCorp. The deal is supposed to help beauty and cosmetics brands in order to execute and run their 3D and AR advertisements easily on the platforms.

Mentioning the importance of advertisements on the Meta platforms, Chris Barbour, Director, Augmented Reality Business Development and Partnerships – Meta Reality Labs, said,

We know how important Facebook and Instagram’s advertising capabilities are for many brands looking to reach their target audience.

Asserting how the new technology can enhance the advertisement industry, he added, “3D and AR opens a new door of advertising possibilities for retail and e-commerce brands, improving the customer experience from the point of acquisition.”

What is Metaverse?

Going by the literal meaning, ‘Meta’ means is a Greek prefix term that means ‘Beyond’ and ‘Verse’ is referred to as ‘Universe’. The report explains ‘Metaverse’ as a ‘seamless convergence of physical and digital lives’ that creates a unified virtual community where people may work, play, relax, transact and socialize. Elaborating that due to the continuous emerging nature, it further adds that there is no ‘singular, all-encompassing definition’ of metaverse that people can look up to.
