My Work Experience at LOCUS

I am working as a unpaid Graphic Designer in LOCUS , a club in Pulchowk Campus for 4 months and running. My time at LOCUS has been an incredible journey filled with personal growth, valuable learning experiences, and wonderful memories. On my first day, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as everything was new to me, from the office environment to the workflow and processes. However, my colleagues and seniors were incredibly supportive and made me feel welcome from day one. They politely guided me through the initial onboarding process, helping me understand the organization’s values, goals, and my role within the team.

During my months of working at LOCUS, I was impressed by the company’s commitment to our growth and development. My seniors and colleagues were always willing to help, provide guidance, and share their wealth of knowledge. Their mentorship played a crucial role in shaping my growth. The work environment was excellent, and teamwork was highly encouraged and valued, making me feel comfortable and supported.

Responsibilities:

As a Graphic Designer at LOCUS IOE, Pulchowk, my primary responsibilities included:

  • Developing creative designs and layouts for various digital and print media , including websites, social media, brochures, and flyers, to effectively communicate the brand message to the target audience.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team and clients to understand their requirements and preferences, and creating designs that align with their brand guidelines and objectives.
  • Creating and editing visual content, such as images, videos, and animations, using software such as Adobe Illustrator, and Figma.
  • Ensuring that all designs are aesthetically pleasing, visually consistent, and meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques, and tools, and incorporating them into the design process to improve the overall quality of the work.

Challenges:

During my work, I faced a few challenges, such as managing multiple design projects simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery and meeting the client’s expectations. Additionally, working with limited resources and tight deadlines was also a challenge at times.

Workplace Culture:

The workspace culture at LOCUS IOE was supportive and collaborative, and I felt encouraged to share my ideas and thoughts. The team was friendly, and the management was approachable, which made it easy to communicate any concerns or suggestions. The company also offered training and  development programs, which helped me enhance my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest design trends.

Overall Experience:

My time as a Graphic Designer at LOCUS IOE was a valuable learning experience. I had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, which helped me improve my design skills and broaden my creative horizons. The supportive work environment, flexible work hours , and emphasis on work-life balance made it a great place to work. I appreciate the experience and growth opportunities provided by the company.
