Cloud Community Day is an event hosted by Google Developer Groups Cloud communities across the globe. The event features the sharing of knowledge and various techniques in cloud technology from industry experts. The individual communities plan the dates and venue, bring the community together to upskill them in the cloud domain, and organize additional events like hackathons, workshops and more.

Cloud Community Days Coimbatore 2023 happened on 22nd April 2023 at Cloud part Coimbatore.

Registration:

Registrations for the event were conducted online, and attendees had the option to choose from various ticket categories, including those for students, early birds, and developers. Early bird and student tickets come with discounts.

We registered as a team and attended the event with an enthusiasm for gaining valuable insights into cloud technology and expanding our network within the developer community.

Event Experience

Our experience at Cloud Community Day 2023 was insightful. The sessions were practical and well-tuned for both beginners and experts. The event offered a comprehensive exploration of Google Cloud Platform and cloud technology, with a diverse range of sessions led by industry experts. We not only gained valuable knowledge but also had the chance to connect with developers and build a network within the community.

Our team had a chance to collaborate with different teams and experts. We discussed their journey to landing their dream job and their experience in their job. We also gained some project ideas that solve real-world problems and are useful for common people.

The sessions handled by experts are more practical and in-depth. Each session lasted for 30 minutes to 45 minutes. In the Let’s Cloud your MySQL Apps session, we are given free GCP credits to practice the Cloud SQL service of Google Cloud with instructions and mini tasks given by an expert.

After forenoon sessions, we are instructed to have lunch at a canteen. The food was already arranged by the organizing team. We had a delicious lunch and enjoyed the moments by playing games and taking group photos with developer experts and teams.

After lunch, the organizing team talked about the motto of Google Developer Groups Coimbatore. It was an interactive talk, where participants also can add some points regarding feedback, experience, suggestions, opportunities, etc. After the talk, the technical sessions started. It happened up to 4 pm evening.

After all the sessions, we are engaged in interacting with speakers, experts, and participants. The organizing team conducted a feedback survey through online forms. The organizing team arranged the photo session to capture moments with all the participants, organizing team, experts and volunteers.

Summary

Cloud Community Day 2023 by GDG Coimbatore is fulfilled by a diverse range of topics related to GCP and applications of cloud technology. The event provided us with valuable insights, practical knowledge and networking opportunities. It was a day well spent, leaving us motivated to learn cloud technology.

We expanded our knowledge of different technologies through sessions by experts and interaction with developers. As a team of students, we explored new things to learn and learned new terms of cloud computing. It was one of the most memorable days for our team. We enjoyed the day a lot and learnt a lot of interesting things.
