What To Do After KCET Results?

Following the announcement of the results, candidates receive invitations to participate in KCET counseling sessions. During this phase, there is a thorough verification of candidates’ documents. Afterwards, candidates have the opportunity to select their preferred courses and colleges. Seat allotment is determined based on the candidates’ ranks, in addition to the specific year’s cutoffs and the admission criteria of the respective colleges.

How is KCET Rank Calculated?

KEA will calculate the KCET 2024 rank using equal parts of the marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in KCET 2024 and marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in the Qualifying Examination.

Calculation of Marks and Rank

The result is primarily influenced by the structure of the KCET exam. The examination encompasses a total of 180 questions, with each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) accounting for 60 marks. Candidates receive 1 mark for every correct answer, and there is no provision for negative marking. The scores attained by candidates in all subjects are aggregated to establish the overall score.

Importantly, the ranking is determined by considering the marks achieved by candidates in both the KCET exams and the qualifying exams, with a balanced ratio of 50:50.

KCET 2024 Passing Marks

According to the KCET brochure, Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates must score a minimum of 12 out of 50 marks in the Kannada Language Examination conducted by KEA. This is a requirement for them to be considered for rank assignment and to become eligible for seat allotment in CET. It is worth noting that the Kannada Language Test paper will be of 4th Standard Level.

If candidates notice any discrepancies in their KCET results 2024, they can file objections against the result. They can raise objections in the following cases:
