This is my first Interview experience. The interview is related to my internship application in the field of web development, specifically the front-end part, as I am a computer science background student. I applied to a startup and after submitting my application, I received an email for the next process, which was the interview. The process consisted of 2 rounds, the first being the HR round and the second being the Technical round. I believe facing an interview is nothing but boosting one’s confidence. This is a very significant experience that I have had in my life.

Every candidate can do the preparation before an interview. Without preparation, the interview will not be successful. Before both the Technical and HR rounds, I prepared with most of the content. For example, I have done preparation for the most common interview questions and practiced my responses. Additionally, I watched videos of different interviews to observe the confidence, body language, and language tone of the candidates.

After my name was called, I entered the cabin and asked for permission to come in. Then, my first round, which was the technical round, started.

Round 1:

As the first question, I already knew it would be “Tell me about yourself,” and after they asked this question, I provided information related to my education, internships, work experience, and hobbies—covering everything they wanted to know. After the introduction part, the interviewers asked me about my projects, my contribution to each project, and the motivation behind developing them. Following the project-related questions, they inquired about my internships, asking which organization I completed them with, my role during those internships, and whether I received a stipend. I answered all these questions during the interview.

The interview was conducted for the position of Java developer. After covering the project and internship parts, they proceeded to ask Java-related questions. I faced questions about all the core concepts of Java and how they work. Although I felt a bit nervous at times, I managed to face the questions confidently because I had prepared thoroughly for both core and advanced Java concepts.

This is how my technical round went very smoothly. They asked me basic networking, database, and development-related questions to check my knowledge in those subjects. Hence, my technical round was completed successfully, and I moved on to the next round, which was the HR round.

Round 2:

After two days, my HR round was also completed. During the HR round, they mainly assessed my personal skills. They asked me very logical and interesting questions, such as what my short and long-term goals are, where I see myself in the next 5 years, and how my skills would be beneficial for their organization. They also inquired about why I believe I am the right and best choice for this position or not.

I faced some challenges and issues during the HR round compared to the Technical round. In the Technical round, the questions were related to what I have done and learned, which I felt more comfortable answering. However, in the HR round, I encountered questions related to time management, problem-solving, conflict management, and team management.

But after both interviews, I feel relaxed. I realized that I am capable of facing this kind of nervousness, and I am confident that I will be able to handle such situations in the future as well. This interview truly provided me with real-time experience, improved my interpersonal skills, and helped me build my confidence.
