For audacity my JEE M rank was 20xx, and my JEE ADV rank was 10xx;

Now let me take you to the beginning of the journey that I started in class 11 ( I was not among those early starters). Due to COVID, my batch was online in class 11. I joined a reputed coaching in my hometown. In the beginning, none of the subjects interested me, however, I was able to score good ranks in my internal tests as I was a test-oriented person and didn’t develop any feelings towards any subjects. My Mathematics experience was horrible. This subject changed a lot from class 10 to class 11, I could feel the gap in the jump. Soon I realized MATHS was not in my hands so I started shifting my focus to physics and chemistry as I was scoring a lot in them.

At the end of class 11, I was good in physics, excellent in chemistry, and a beginner in mathematics.

With class 12 boards + JEE timeframe became serious. Chemistry was a lot easier now as no more calculations were to be done except for some 1-2 basic chapters (at least not as equilibrium or thermodynamics). So I just sliced chemistry. As far as physics is concerned I was not good in the class but the frequent solving of the modules given by my coaching developed my solving skills (also I will thank Ashish Arora, sir).

Now what to do about mathematics?? I was constantly thinking about it… should I keep it at a bare minimum or should I compromise physics and chemistry??

well, I chose to incline towards physics and chemistry but that didn’t mean I was reluctant to mathematics. time ratio was 1 : 0.5: 1 between PCM(you might wonder if I was giving equal time to P and M but I am saying this concerning others who say M should be twice of time).

Chemistry involved rote learning to be frank. This gave me 91 marks in the advanced exam(JEE 2023).

Physics gave me 89 marks. I will suggest you go through every physics chapter… some say to leave a tough chapter but you shouldn’t as even a basic question might come in the paper for the same amount of marks what will you do ??

Now let’s come to mathematics.. 37 marks

I never blamed myself for a low score as I never tried or even if I had tried my overall score would have been lower than what I received now by P+C.

Morale of the story is that if your 1 subject is weak then don’t worry much about it.. just do the basics and previous year and at least all the formulas. your 2 subjects can drive you much farther than the divided focus into 3 subjects.
