How to Update Aadhaar Online by Booking Appointment?

What are Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs)?

These dedicated centers, established by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), offer hassle-free enrolment and update services for your Aadhaar card. ASKs provide a comfortable and efficient environment with amenities like air conditioning, designated waiting areas, and an electronic token system.

Before You Book Your Appointment

• Ensure you have a valid mobile number (not mandatory to be Aadhaar registered).
• Keep details of your relevant documents ready (identity proof, address proof, date of birth proof).

Steps to Book an Appointment Online

1. Visit the UIDAI website: https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/bookappointment.aspx

3. Choose the type of ASK: UIDAI-run or Registrar-run.

For UIDAI-run Centers:

• Select your city/location and click “Proceed to Book Appointment“.

• Enter your mobile number, captcha code, and click “Generate OTP“.
• Enter the received OTP and click “Verify OTP“.
• Fill in the required details and submit the form.

For Registrar-run Centers:

• Click “Proceed to Book an Appointment“.
• Select your resident type (Indian resident or NRI).
• Choose your preferred registration method (mobile number or email address).
• Enter the necessary details and click “Send OTP“.
• Enter the received OTP for authentication.
• Fill and submit the appointment booking form.

Once the Appointment is Booked

• You will receive an acknowledgement slip.
• Print and carry this slip to your Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Remember

• You can book a maximum of 4 appointments per month.
• Walk-in appointments are also available at ASKs, but booking online helps you avoid queues and choose a convenient slot.
• There are limits to the number of updates allowed for certain details: name (2 updates), date of birth (1 update), gender (1 update), and address (no limit).

• Mandatory Biometric update for kids (5 & 15 years): Free
• Other Biometric/Demographic updates: ₹100 – ₹50 (depending on the type of update)
