You can check your PAN card status using either your mobile number or Aadhaar number, but the methods slightly differ depending on which you choose:

Can I Check PAN Card Status by Mobile Number?

Yes, you can check your PAN card status by mobile number. There are two methods to do this,

1. Check the PAN Card Status track through Telephone:

  • Dial the TIN call center at 020-27218080 (7:00-11:00 PM, Daily).
  • Provide the executive with your 15-digit acknowledgment number.

2. Check the PAN Card Status track via SMS:

  • Compose an SMS with your token or acknowledgment number (15-digit).
  • Send this text message on PAN card status customer care number to 57575 NSDL PAN.
  • In a few seconds, you will receive an SMS with the status of your PAN card.

Can I Check PAN Card Status by Aadhaar Number?

Yes, you can check your PAN card status by your Aadhaar number in two ways:

1. Checking PAN Card status:

  • Go to the Income Tax e-filing website: https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
  • Under “Quick Links” click on “Instant e-PAN“.
  • Click “Continue” under the “Check Status/ Download PAN” option.
  • Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and click “Continue“.
  • Enter the OTP received on your mobile number linked to Aadhaar and click “Continue“.
  • The screen will display the status of your PAN card based on your Aadhaar number.

2. Checking PAN-Aadhaar linking status:

  • Go to the same Income Tax e-filing website.
  • Under “Quick Links” click on “Link Aadhaar Status“.
  • Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number and click “View Link Aadhaar Status“.
  • The screen will display whether your PAN and Aadhaar are linked or not.

Things to Always Remember

  • Have your PAN number or application acknowledgment number ready.
  • Ensure your mobile number is registered with the PAN card or application.
  • For older applications or more details, use online portals or visit a PAN service center.

Please note that the Income Tax Department NEVER asks for your PINs, passwords, or similar access information for credit cards, banks, or other financial accounts through email. Do not respond to such emails and do not share your bank and other financial account information.
