The Aadhaar card, a unique identification document issued by the Indian government, is crucial for accessing various social welfare schemes and financial services in India.

It’s important to remember that you cannot apply for a completely new Aadhaar card online. This process requires visiting an enrolment center and submitting your demographic and biometric information.

While you cannot apply for a completely new Aadhaar card online, there are several online services related to Aadhaar that can be quite helpful. Let’s delve into these services:

1. Downloading your e-Aadhaar

  • This is the most convenient way to access your Aadhaar information. You can download your e-Aadhaar using either your Aadhaar number or your 28-digit enrolment ID.
  • Visit the official UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in/en/my-aadhaar/get-aadhaar.html) and navigate to the “Get Aadhaar” section.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number or enrolment ID, along with your full name and registered mobile number/pincode.
  • You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to download your e-Aadhaar in PDF format.

2. Ordering a PVC Aadhaar Card

  • While the e-Aadhaar is a valid proof of identity, you might prefer a physical card. You can order a Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Aadhaar card online for a nominal fee.
  • Visit the UIDAI website or download the mAadhaar app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.gov.uidai.mAadhaarPlus&hl=en_IN).
  • Go to the “Order Aadhaar PVC Card” section and enter your Aadhaar number, Virtual Identification Number (VID), or enrolment ID.
  • Choose your preferred mode of authentication (OTP or Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) from mAadhaar) and complete the payment.
  • You will receive a tracking number to monitor the delivery status of your PVC card.

3. Checking Aadhaar Status

  • If you have recently applied for an Aadhaar or updated your existing information, you can check its status online.
  • Visit the UIDAI website and go to the “Check Aadhaar Status” section.
  • Enter your enrolment ID or Aadhaar number along with your registered mobile number/pincode.
  • The website will display the current status of your Aadhaar application/update.
