How to Delete Digilocker Account?

While DigiLocker offers a convenient platform for storing and managing digital documents, currently there is no direct way to delete your account. However, there are alternative methods you can explore to achieve a similar outcome:

1. Removing Uploaded Documents

• You can delete individual uploaded documents from your DigiLocker account. This does not affect your account itself but removes specific documents you no longer need.
• To delete a document, log in to your DigiLocker account, navigate to the “Uploaded Documents” section, and click the delete icon next to the desired document.

2. Deactivating Issued Documents

• Issued documents, like PAN cards or driving licenses, are fetched from government agencies and cannot be deleted. However, you can deactivate them to prevent them from being displayed in your account.
• To deactivate an issued document, select the document and click the “Deactivate” option. Remember, deactivating doesn’t remove the document from government records, it only hides it from your DigiLocker view.

3. Contacting DigiLocker Support

• While account deletion isn’t currently available, you can contact DigiLocker support to request an account closure.

Important Note

• Since DigiLocker is linked to your Aadhaar number, it’s important to understand that deleting your account won’t remove your Aadhaar association. Your Aadhaar number will remain linked to the platform.
