There are several ways to check your PAN card in India, depending on your preference and available information. To check your PAN (Permanent Account Number) card, you can follow the online or offline Method.

Online Method of Checking PAN Card

1. Income Tax E-Filing Website: This is the official website of the Income Tax Department (https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/). You can verify your PAN details by entering your PAN number, full name as per PAN, and date of birth. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number for verification.

2. NSDL e-PAN Website: This allows you to download your PAN card in PDF format if you have registered and activated your PAN on the NSDL website. You will need to enter your PAN number, date of birth, and registered mobile number to download the e-PAN.

3. UIDAI Aadhaar Website: If your PAN is linked with your Aadhaar card, you can access your PAN details through the Aadhaar website. You will need to enter your Aadhaar number and complete the OTP verification.

Offline Method of Checking PAN Card

1. Through Your Bank: Many banks offer PAN card verification services. You can visit your bank branch and provide your PAN card details for verification.

2. Through PAN Card Service Centers: These are authorized centers set up by the Income Tax Department to provide PAN-related services. You can locate a PAN service center near you on the NSDL website.

Additional Methods

1. Through SMS: You can send an SMS ‘NSDLPAN {15-digit PAN number}’ to 57575 to receive your PAN details on your registered mobile number.

2. Through Toll-Free Numbers: You can call the Income Tax Department toll-free number 1800-180-1961 or the Protean e-Gov Technologies Limited toll-free number 020-272-18080 to speak to a representative and get your PAN details verified.

Always Remember

  • Always ensure you are using a secure website or service when checking your PAN details online.
  • Never share your PAN details with anyone you do not trust.
  • Keep your PAN card and other important documents safe and secure.
