The PAN card is an identification card issued by the Income Tax Department of India, and it primarily contains your PAN number, photograph, name, and date of birth. The password for your PAN card depends on what you’re trying to access with it.

If You Are Trying To Open a Downloaded e-PAN Card PDF

  • The password is your date of birth or incorporation in the format DDMMYYYY, as it appears on your PAN card application form.
  • This applies if your most recent application was processed through NSDL-e-Gov.
  • For example, if your date of birth is 02/02/1992, your password would be 02021992.

If You Are Trying To Access Other PAN-Related Services

  • The password is not your date of birth.
  • You will need to set up a separate password for each online service you use, just like you would with any other online account.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Never share your PAN card password with anyone. It is confidential information that should only be used by you.
  • If you forget your PAN card password, you can usually reset it through the website or service where you downloaded the e-PAN.

Be cautious of phishing scams that try to trick you into revealing your PAN card password. Only enter your password on official websites and services.
