ECE stands for Electronics and Communication Engineering. Engineering degree has many branches in which ECE is one of the branches which is responsible for the design, production, testing, and research of devices of computers and telecommunication systems. Devices that are made by ECE engineers are getting used for the maintenance of satellites, construction of buildings, and also used to make the internet accessible to rural and urban areas.  

The Curriculum of the ECE Course

  • The study of ECE is used to develop and design electronic devices or equipment which are used for computers and different electronic chips.
  • Manufacturing of broadcast systems and communication systems is taken care by the study of ECE.
  • Communication systems and broadcast systems can be developed or designed conceptually by ECE.
  • The study of ECE is also used to develop television, radio, and computer.
  • Planning, execution, testing, and evaluation of any projects or products related to communication can be done by the study of ECE.
  • ECE focuses on microwave engineering, microprocessors, satellite communication, solid-state devices analog and digital communication. 
  • ECE also helps with the study and research of telecommunication, network communication, the IT sector, and AI (Artificial intelligence ).

Eligibility Criteria for ECE Course

  • A candidate needs to complete his or her class 12 exam with three mandatory subjects which are Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics after which they can get admission in the course of ECE.
  • JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) needs to be cleared by the candidates so that they can apply for those colleges where they can study the course of ECE. Four years is the duration of the course.
  • A candidate can apply for a PG degree only on the specialization for which they have completed their UG degree.

Career Options After  ECE Course

  • Telecom Engineer: They are responsible for designing and analyzing of new technologies where the engineer decides to upgrade the services and facilities of electronic communication systems like routers and cables of transmission. 
  • Software Analyst: Analysts are responsible for managing the algorithm of software according to the need of customers o to make more user-friendly applications.
  • Network Planning Engineer: Computer networks are maintained by a network planning engineer. Network planning, hardware infrastructure, and security of software are taken care of.
  • Electronic Design Engineer: These engineers are responsible for testing, organizing, and developing products in an efficient way.

ECE courses can help in getting jobs in service organizations like data communication, broadcasting, consulting, development, and research.
