DXC Technology Interview Experience for ASE (Off-Campus) 2023

Introduction

I participated in the DXC Technology Campus Drive for the role of Associate Software Engineer in July-August 2023, representing the batch of 2024, i.e., final-year students. The drive was aimed at recruiting Associate Software Engineers. All the rounds of the interview process were conducted online, offering a convenient and accessible way to showcase our skills.

Round 1: Online Assessment

This round was a comprehensive assessment comprising several sections:

• Logical Reasoning
• Quantitative Aptitude
• Verbal Ability
• Essay Writing

Computer Programming (Pseudocodes):

Coding Section (Automata): A coding challenge that included questions related to Array Sum and decimal-to-binary conversion.

While the Quantitative section presented a moderate level of difficulty, the rest were relatively easier. I successfully solved both coding challenges. It’s worth noting that this round served as an elimination stage, with only the top 150 students proceeding to the next round. Additionally, candidates were required to submit their resumes in the DXC format along with this test.

Round 2: The Technical and HR Fusion

This round was a blend of technical interviews and HR questions. I faced general queries such as:

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why do you think you are a good fit for this role?
3. DXC CLEAR VALUES (which I had thoroughly reviewed before the interview).
4. Discussion about my projects and internship experiences, if any.
5. Questions related to Computer Fundamentals, including topics like Operating Systems, Linux, and the SDLC Lifecycle.

Confidently answering these questions earned me a ticket to the next round.

Round 3: The Technical Round

In this purely technical round, only 60 students cut. The questions were tailored to the skills I had highlighted in my resume. The interviewer kicked off by asking about my name, college, and my proficiency in programming languages. I mentioned Java and Python. He then delved into the implementation of Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS) concepts. Given my project’s focus on React, he inquired about why I chose React and asked for choices. I fielded basic questions about Python, SQL, and Operating Systems, responding with confidence. Coding exercises like Fibonacci and Palindrome were also thrown into the mix.

As an added dimension, the interviewer probed my familiarity with cutting-edge technologies like AI and Cloud. Given my certifications in AI, I responded affirmatively. Subsequently, I answered questions about ML algorithms and shared my insights on how AI is impacting the corporate world, including workforce changes and automation.
