The universe of CS:GO esports stays in a continuous state of oscillation and evolution. With each new tournament, elite teams climb and drop, glimpsing periods of domination and power that come and go.

While some teams may be considered superior in an overarching sense, no single team holds an endless top position. The ranking scale of the best CS GO teams transitions and evolves month by month throughout 2023, making it challenging to establish a definitive ranking.

CS:GO 2023: How have teams performed?

We are evaluating the top CS GO teams in 2023 established on their most recent 50 matches. Furthermore, we consider the resilience of their opponents during each match to provide the most precise rankings possible. To account for variations in match frequency, we consider matches played within 12 months. It’s critical to note that some teams may be ranked based on fewer than fifty official matches.

Top 5 CS:GO Esports teams in the World – 2023

Team Vitality

Ever since their victory in the final CS GO Major, it seems that Vitality can’t put a foot wrong. This team brags extraordinary strength, and fans are witnessing ZywOo’s emergence as one of the world’s top players.

Their win at ESL Pro League Season 16 had the possibility to drive this team to new heights, but they experienced a brief period of stagnation following that win.

Regardless, in the past couple of months, they’ve made consequential strides since their success at the Paris Major 2023, and they’ve certainly earned it. Having already carved their legacy in CS GO, fans are eagerly foreseeing the impact they will make as they venture into Counter-Strike 2.

Faze Clan

FaZe’s dominance in the first half of 2022 led them into a false sense of complacency. They held the crown of the world’s best team for a while, but in the swiftly growing domain of CS GO, luck can change rapidly. The latter half of 2022 established to be a struggle, with FaZe often making it to finals only to stutter at the last juncture. They appeared to be in demand of a stroke of luck to get back on the right path.

Their success at ESL Pro League Season 17 in early 2023 marked a momentous accomplishment as FaZe concluded the Intel Grand Slam, becoming just the fourth team in history to do so. With karrigan in his 30s and rain now a father, the future of this roster is debatable. Their shared triumph at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups was commendable, but it may not represent the peak this team aims to conclude their journey on.

Following a rather disappointing 5th – 8th place finish in the final CS GO Major, FaZe Clan enters the year with a desire to prove themselves once more, although the window for doing so may be limited.

Heroic

Heroic has often been the runner-up, never quite claiming the top spot, at least until 2023. It must have been a frustrating journey for cadiaN, who tenaciously built a team that seemed stuck in the domain of near misses. Finally, their commitment and hard work are beginning to yield results in 2023.

Despite earning second-place finishes at the IEM Rio Major 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023, Heroic has now secured victories. They emerged as champions in both the BLAST Premier Spring Finals and Fall groups. Their triumph even included a victory over Vitality, who had recently won the Paris Major. CS GO is a game where the finest of margins can make all the difference. Perhaps 2023 heralds the beginning of a dominant era for Heroic.

If Heroic can maintain this momentum, they have the potential to ascend in the world of professional CS GO. The key lies in consistently reaching those finals; otherwise, they risk losing ground.

G2 ESports

In 2023, G2 ventured on what seemed like a promising era of authority. Their long-awaited win at the BLAST Premier World Final 2022 marked the end of a dry spell. Confounding the finishing line had been a significant challenge for G2 in the past, but that triumph extended the floodgates.

Their rate continued with an outstanding win at IEM Katowice 2023, where they dropped only one map throughout the whole tournament. The expansion of HooXi and jks, coupled with the development of m0NESY, led to some notable successes in the current year.

However, G2’s performance has taken a nosedive since then. Following a 12th-14th place finish in Paris, G2 also fell short in the Spring Final. They have a lot of ground to cover and goals to achieve at IEM Cologne before they set their sights on the World Championships later this year!

CLOUD9

Cloud9 is a team on the rise. Their tireless commitment bore fruit with a second-place finish at ESL Pro League Season 17, placing them on the cusp of securing their first S-Tier tournament victory in nearly a year, with a renascent FaZe Clan as their challenging opponents.

However, they have also revealed their vulnerability, as evidenced by a stunning loss to IHC at IEM Katowice 2023. While this setback raised problems, Cloud9 has more than recompensedfor it. Fans eagerly await their first-place finish, and they came incredibly close in ESL Pro League Season 17 and IEM Rio.

With sh1ro’s impressive performance this year and buster seamlessly blending into the team, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Cloud9 leading the pack in Cologne and beyond.
