Round 1:

I applied through the Women in Tech Program, which led to my resume being shortlisted and receiving an email for an Online Assessment round.

Round 2:

The online assessment consisted of four questions, ranging from easy to difficult. I managed to complete 3.5 questions.

After 10-15 days, I received an email stating that I was eligible for an interview. It mentioned that there would be two interviews: a technical interview and a values and management round, with the first round being eliminative.

Round 3:

In the first interview round, the interviewer began with introductions and then asked a Data Structures and Algorithms problem. It was of medium to hard difficulty. Initially, I discussed my approach with the interviewer before coding it up. After testing it on several test cases, the interviewer asked 2-3 follow-up questions, requiring minor changes in the code. I accommodated these changes and tested them again under various scenarios. Before wrapping up, I posed a question to the interviewer.

After 15 minutes, I received an overwhelming email scheduling my round 2 interview. The time between both interviews was only 30 minutes.

Round 4:

This round primarily focused on the Atlassian values. It commenced with introductions, followed by discussions about the projects listed on my resume and the tech stack I work with. The interviewer inquired about my choice of tech stack and delved into situational-based questions related to both academic and real-world scenarios.

For instance, I was asked to recount a time when I faced difficulty learning a new skill or received negative feedback on my work. Additionally, the interviewer queried about my involvement in team projects or hackathons, seeking insights into how work was divided and my specific contributions.

After a thorough discussion, I posed a question to the interviewer before concluding the interview.

Both interviews went well, leaving me hopeful for a positive outcome.

Later that evening, I was ecstatic to receive the selection email.

Tips for Preparation:

  • Develop quality projects and ensure a thorough understanding of your contributions.
  • Craft a well-formatted resume.
  • Master Data Structures and Algorithms as questions can vary widely.
  • Familiarize yourself with Atlassian’s values and integrate them into your responses during the managerial round.
  • Values:
  1. Open company, no BS
  2. Build with heart and balance
  3. Don’t #@! % the customer
  4. Play as a team
  5. Be the change you seek
  • Maintain confidence throughout the interview process.
