In the whirlwind of preparing for the daunting JEE exam, my sights were set on one goal: cracking it with flying colours. Days turned into nights as I buried myself in textbooks and practice tests, determined to secure a spot in a top-tier engineering institute. But just when I thought I had everything mapped out, life threw me a curveball – the VITEEE exam.

It was like a sudden plot twist in my carefully scripted journey. I hadn’t even considered the VITEEE exam until it popped up as a backup option. With only 20 days left until the exam date, panic threatened to set in. How could I possibly switch gears and prepare for another test on such short notice? But I refused to be deterred. Drawing on the knowledge and skills I had amassed during my JEE preparations, I dove headfirst into the world of VITEEE. While the questions weren’t as gruelling as those of the JEE, there were still unfamiliar territories to conquer.

I started by revisiting familiar concepts, using them as stepping stones to navigate the new terrain of the VITEEE syllabus. Armed with determination and an arsenal of YouTube tutorials, I tackled each topic with fervour, determined to leave no stone unturned. But preparation wasn’t just about theory – it was about practice. I scoured the depths of the internet for previous years’ question papers, devouring them with the hunger of someone chasing a dream. And when doubts crept in, threatening to derail my confidence, I turned to a trusty mobile app designed specifically for VITEEE preparation.

As the days flew by in a blur of study sessions and mock tests, the countdown to the exam drew to a close. With butterflies fluttering in my stomach, I stepped into the exam hall, armed with the knowledge and resilience forged in the crucible of preparation.

Result

And when the results finally came in, it was a moment of sweet victory. With a rank around 21k, I had not only conquered the VITEEE exam but also earned a coveted spot in VIT-AP’s Computer Science and Engineering branch – a testament to the power of perseverance and the unwavering belief that every obstacle is just another stepping stone on the path to success.

First Year

In my first year at VIT-AP, I focused on two things: getting good grades and diving into tech. I managed to pull off a solid CGPA of around 9, which was a big win for me. But alongside my classes, I got into web development and learning about data structures and algorithms (DSA).

I used websites like Geeks for Geeks and YouTube to learn DSA. It was tough at first, but I kept at it, solving problem after problem until I got the hang of it. Plus, I joined the Microsoft Students Chapter. They had this tech team, and I thought, “Why not?” By the end of the year, I felt pretty confident in my academic stuff, as well as web development and DSA. I even tackled about 300 problems on Geeks for Geeks, which was a big accomplishment for me. It was a busy year, but it set me up nicely for what came next.

Second Year

In my second year as well I kept on learning DSA but also I tried a few more things like mobile development and machine learning. I had good support from my seniors and somehow I also tried to guide my juniors with whatever knowledge I had

Internship

I did not go for any technical internship but I went for a teaching internship at GUVI Geeks where I was assigned a role as a Python mentor for kids with a good stipend also I went for some 2 months of internship with no stipend to enhance my coding knowledge.

Startup

VIT-AP has a good drive for startups and with my friend, I targeted to start a startup in the field of mental health so we developed an application for that which has various features for mentally ill people we also let them connect to our university counsellors and book sessions by the help of our application with them and get there problem resolved. After that, it’s still in the testing phase and soon we will be launching it on campus.

Hackathons

During my second year, I participated in an around more than 10 hackathons at the national and university levels and also we won 5 of them as a team. I had a very good team of my friends who were there with me in our startup section

Clubs and Chapters

At VIT-AP we have plenty of technical and non-technical clubs and they keep organizing events from time to time. From boot camps to industrial lectures to hackathons a lot of exciting events are always there.

Technical clubs like Microsoft Student Chapter, GeeksForGeeks chapter, Codechef etc…
