Vel Tech University Campus Experience

I study at Vel Tech University, Chennai. I am in the final year of my graduation. Due to covid I couldn’t visit the campus and trusted the sites and reviews on the internet but this has become the worst decision of my life. I can say that the college, the faculties in the college, all the staff members including the HODs and deans are very rude and non-cooperative. I have experienced a lot of partiality as a North Indian student. And talking about the local area people or even in Chennai city the citizens are very rude and have a helpless nature. At the time of admission, they had bragged about the college as well as about placements, but now during my placements, I can experience that there is no reputation or value of our college in India.

This year most of the companies visited, did not hire any one of the students from 1200 students in the CSE dept. including 500 students from another department. So, you guys can imagine the quality of education this college provides. The faculty doesn’t hesitate to lie, even now, in our class the HOD lies that we’ll get you guys placed and conduct training classes for us. In those training classes they don’t teach anything, we would simply sit and talk. If I talk about the infrastructure, I would say it is just like a hospital. you’ll not feel like you are walking in a college. It is a small campus that you’d feel “Ye to shuru hote hi khatam hogya”. And especially when talking about the management, it is messed up. Class timings are horrible. They conduct internal exams on class timing and ask us to be present in class and exam. The canteen is nothing worse than garbage. The taste of the food is bad and prices are high as a 5-star restaurant. Don’t hope for any sports day or annual function and especially north Indians don’t expect Diwali or Holi celebration here. The cultural events and fests don’t exist here.
