For converting different units we have two ways:

We know that:

1 meter = 1 /1000 kilometer

12 meter = 12 / 1000 = 0.012 km

Example 2: Convert 34 milligrams into grams.

Solution:

34 milligrams = 34 / 1000 = 0.034 grams
