‘The Avengers’ is the term, every marvel fan loves. The movie was the first one to bring multiple MCU heroes to one screen. A mega buster that still gives chills to the audience. Marvel’s The Avengers is a 2012 American Sci-fi, Action film co-written and directed by Joss Whedon. It is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures with a budget of $220 million. It was released internationally on 25th April 2012 and the Box Office collection was $1.519 billion.

Based on the Marvel Comics Superhero team, The Avengers is the sixth movie inside the marvel universe after Iron man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron man 2 (2010), and Thor (2011), and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). The film is the final installment of Phase One and provoked 5 sequels as Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2025), and Avengers: Secret Wars (2025).

The Avengers: Synopsis and Plot

When an Unexpected enemy appears unexpectedly with the motive to threaten global safety, Fury, Director of SHIELD, brings together the six mightiest heroes of the earth (Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Thor Odinson, and Clint Barton) to counter the attack and maintain peace. Meanwhile, the heroes would learn to work as a team in order to handle this havoc.

The story begins with the experiment on the ‘Tesseract’, an ancient relic, which is the source of infinite energy in the SHIELD base where Loki, the God of mischief, appears out of the portal. He kills multiple there, takes possession of the Tesseract, and compels Clint Barton and Eric Selvig, also declaring war to subjugate Earth.

Fury then seeks out the help of the mightiest heroes activating ‘Avengers Initiative’ to retain the Tesseract and cease the attack, Loki Planned. He brings together Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Thor the God of thunder, and Agent Romanoff (later Clint Barton when he breaks out of the compulsion). Together they must fight an army of Loki to protect Earth.

The Avengers: Starring

1. Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America

Rogers is a super soldier created with a super serum in a lab around World War II. He is one of the founding members of avengers and a war veteran. He attained superhuman strength, physique, stamina, and battle durability. His appearance includes a battle suit with the looks of the American flag. Played by Chris Evans, an American actor who started his on-screen career in the television series, “The Newcomers” in 2000. He gained notoriety as ‘Human-Torch’, a marvel comic-based superhero, after 2005’s movie ‘Fantastic Four’.

2. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man

Stark is a genius, scientist, billionaire, and philanthropist. He wears an electromechanical suit of armor to deal with not-so-ordinary stuff and is popularly then known as Iron-Man. Played by Robert John Downey Jr. is an American actor who debuted his career with the 1970 movie ‘Pound’, written and Directed by his father, Robert John Downey Sr., later around 2013 he became one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors.

3. Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk

Banner is a genius scientist who had gone through an accidental mega-gamma exposure. Since then gained an alter ego, a mighty monster known as Hulk. Edward Norton played the cast of Hulk in 2008’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’ but later due to some of Marvel’s inner disputes, Mark Ruffalo, an American actor, replaced Norton. Ruffalo debuted his career with a small role in 1989’s ‘CBS Summer Playhouse’ but caught the audience’s eye after 1996’s ‘This Is Our Youth’.

4. Chris Hemsworth as Thor 

Thor is the mythical God of Thunder according to Norse Mythology. An Asgardian prince wearing a red cape and wielding an ultimate powerful weapon, Mjolnir. Played by Chris Hemsworth, an Australian-born actor started his American career with 2010’s ‘cash’ and subsequently played the role of Thor in 2011’s ‘Thor’. The worldwide audience praised his portrayal as Thor the God of Thunder and the movie became the 15th highest grossing of the Year.

5. Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow

Romanoff is a veteran combatant and skilled spy working for SHIELD. Played by Scarlett Johansson, an American actor first debuted in 1994’s ‘North’. All over the World, her films earned $14.5 Billion, which made her the highest-grossing box office star of all time.

6. Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye

Barton is a master archer, Combatant, and Spy from SHIELD played by Jeremy Lee Renner, an American actor. He debuted his on-screen career with 1995’s ‘National Lampoon’s Senior Trip’, he got notoriety after portraying William James in 2009’s ‘The Hurt Locker’. His MCU journey began with a small scene as Hawkeye in 2011’s ‘Thor’.

7. Tom Hiddleston as Loki

Loki, the god of mischief, is an Asgardian and adoptive brother of Thor. He is the main antagonist in this movie, a very cunning to take on. Played by Thomas William Hiddleston, a British actor, who debuted his film career in 2006’s ‘Unrelated’ and substantially earned world recognition when he portrayed Loki in 2011’s ‘Thor’. Originally, he auditioned for the role of Thor but was subsequently hired to play Loki.

8. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury

Nick Fury is the Director of SHIELD, a mastermind, who also started the “Avengers Initiative”. The idea behind is to form a team of superheroes that can be used to defend Earth from certain threats of dragon caliber. Samuel Leroy Jackson is an American actor, who debuted on-screen in 1972’s ‘Together for Days’. He became famous for his acting in 1988’s “Coming to America”, 1993’s ‘True Romance’, 1993’s ‘Jurassic Park’ and much more. He made his first cameo appearance as Nick Fury in the post-credit scene of 2008’s ‘Iron Man” and began his MCU journey.
