Soon the truth was discovered and the Marleyan people tried to gain control over the titans starting a war between Eldians and Marleyan.

It was revealed later that this Amestrain soldier was actually Envy, a notorious being that causes mayhem and enjoys when people suffer. He wantedly shot the child to start a war. But the Ishvalans did not back up and were supported by the neighboring country, Aerugo, who contributed munitions to the Ishvalans.
