Hey, folks Today I’m going to tell you about my TCS interview, I hope this article helps you to prepare for your upcoming interviews 🙂

So I was from a BCA background and I am from Kolkata. The smart hiring aptitude test was conducted in November or December (approx), there were some rounds first the quantitative aptitude round then the logical reasoning aptitude round then the coding round. No no no don’t hesitate by the coding round because it is not actually a coding round where you have to write a code and run, actually, there are some MCQ questions about coding, and some of the questions had no option, there was a text box where you had to write the output, so basically the all the rounds were very tough, here I should mention one thing that I am not weak in aptitude because how many aptitude tests I have given in my life I have cleared all of them till now, so the aptitude test round was tough.

One day I got an email mentioning that I successfully cleared the aptitude test of TCS Smart Hiring 2019

Then one day I got an email mentioning the interview date and venue.

So I went there in time, actually, there were two rounds one was the technical interview and then the HR interview, but as they had very little time, they called me into a panel where there were two technical interviewers and 1 HR person.

On entering the room at first I greeted all the three people sitting in front of me, after they told me to sit, they started asking me what trending technologies attract me. I told them about machine learning artificial intelligence and IoT.

The middle person asked me to explain about machine learning and I told the basic concept of it.

Then the middle person was asking me about networking-related technical questions. at first, he asked me about the seven layers of the OSI model. I successfully answered that. Then he asked me how many ports are there in a computer CPU, and I told them. Then he asked me which type of cable was used to make the VGA cable. I answered wrong because it was coaxial.

Then after so many networking-related questions, he asked me whether I had any interest in networking-related things or not and I strictly answered him that I was not interested in networking things. Then the person sitting on the left side started to ask me about the main technical questions like DBMS C C plus plus and data structures as well.

He asked me about how many keys are there in DBMS, and I told him. Then he told me to write a code to swap two variables without using a third variable. So it was pretty easy as I am good at coding and I have a 5-star rating in Hackerrank in problem-solving so it was nothing for me. Then he asked me about the stack and queue data structures. Then he asked some basic coding questions you can follow some websites.

Then the HR madam asked me whether all the things I mentioned in the application form were true or not because they will send a BGC or background check team to ensure that all the things I have mentioned are correct. Then she asked me some basic questions like “Why should I hire you”, “whether you have any problem with relocation and shifting” etc etc.

After that, they told me to leave for the day and I came out of the room and went to my home. After two or three days I got the offer letter in my next step portal and I accepted the offer letter and updated my preferred technologies and preferred locations. Now I am waiting for the joining letter.

In my opinion, it was very easy if you have studied well throughout your academic years and if all the knowledge and concepts are very clear to you then there is no chance of getting rejected.
