TCS Codevita Interview Experience For Digital

Hello Everyone!

I am excited to share my interview experience of TCS Code vita season 11 2024. I hope you will like it and it will be helpful for your placement journey.

Round 1

• It was held on December 8, 2023.
• In this round, 6 questions had to be done in 6 hours having a window of 24 hours.
• It was a non-proctored mode means there was no camera or mic was there, you can get help from any reference available on the internet just make sure you don’t get any plagiarism.
• Though I was able to do only 1 question out of 6 still I was able to clear this round and get a rank of around 5k, only 6k students proceeded to the next round.

Round 2

• It was held on 20 January 2024.
• This round was also similar to the previous one but it has a slit change. There were 8 questions in 6 hours.
• I was able to solve 2 questions within the time.
• The questions in both rounds were of medium to high level.
• Only 2k students were able to clear this round and I am glad I was one of them my rank was 1047.

TAG Coding Round

• It was held on 8 March 2024.
• All the students who were able to clear Round 1 were invited to attend a tag coding test to ensure that they had solved the question by themselves.
• It was an incentive test means you had to go to ion digital centres for this test.
• There were 2 coding questions which have to be done in 90 minutes, each question had 2 public and private test cases.
• Students who were able to pass the public test case of any question got an interview call from TCS.
• I was able to solve both questions completely and I got the call for a digital role.

Technical interview

After around 1 month of the tag coding test, I got the mail for a digital role interview which was scheduled on the next day at the TCS Lucknow office which was near to my college location (Kanpur).

• The timing for reporting was 10 am and around 10 students from my college got the invite and all were in digital roles.
• After reaching the centre we have to wait in the hall for an interview.
• I was waiting there till lunch, after lunch I got an invite to go for an interview.
• There were 3 members of the interview panel.
• As soon as I reached to the interview room, one of them told me to sit and asked me to introduce myself.

Now, I am going to tell you the series of questions asked me-

1. Do you know about SDLC, explain all the steps involved in SDLC.
2. Difference between agile and waterfall model.
3. What do you know about polymorphism?
4. Explain the database trigger and cursor.
5. Write a code to swap two numbers without using a third variable and any arithmetic operations. (Basically, they were asked to solve using bitwise).
6. Explain Group by.

After this, MR asked me the questions-

1. What is your final year project and what is your role in this project?
2. Do you know about Aw, is it a public or private cloud service?
3. Explain Ml algorithms and their types.
4. This question was I think the deciding factor and I was not expecting at that time to satisfy me that you should be hired for the digital role, not for a ninja role.
5. Difference between unsupervised and reinforcement learning.

In the end, he went through my resume and asked about my internship and my hobbies as I mentioned them in my resume.

After this HR questions were there-

1. Would you accept the ninja offer?
2. What will you do if you become a team lead?

This was all about my interview, it was around 45-50 minutes.

Verdict-

I am glad to inform you all, that I was selected for the digital role.

Tips:

• Go through your resume very well before the interview.
• Learn about new technologies like AI, ML and cloud especially if you are going for prime or digital interviews.
• Prepare for your internship and project very well.
• At least, don’t hesitate to say no if you don’t know the answer and be confident.
• TCS interview is also about luck, some are selected after a 15 to 20-minute interview, and some are not even after 1 hour.
