Synopsis – The new service Rossgram will be launched on 28th March and after numerous international penalties over the country, this is among few things that will be created by them within the domestic market.

After the ban of Instagram and Facebook in Russia, now the tech entrepreneurs of the country are all set to launch a new picture-sharing application Rossgram‘. Just like its name the application will be similar to Instagram and will fill the void created by the ban of other social media platforms.

The new service Rossgram will be launched on 28th March and after numerous international penalties over the country, this is among few things that will be created by them within the domestic market. The replacement of Instagram is being created by the tech-giants and have listed it with a few additional features such as paid access for some content as well as crowdfunding. Besides this, the layout has been created similar to Instagram, the color theme also resembles the global photo-sharing app.

Rossgram’s Public Relations Director Alexander Zubov said in a statement,

“My partner Kirill Filimonov and our group of developers were already ready for this turn of events and decided not to miss the opportunity to create a Russia analogue of a popular social network beloved by our compatriots.”

After Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook allowed the users to post inappropriate things about Russia including ‘death to Russian invaders’, the state communications regulator of Russia blocked access to Instagram on March 14, 2022.

One Russian spokesperson also added in a statement,

“As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we have temporarily made allowances for forms of political expression that would normally violate our rules like violent speech such as ‘death to Russian soldiers’. We still won’t allow credible calls for violence against Russian civilians.”

However, we all know that Instagram is a very popular application and it was also liked by the Russians. But due to some inappropriate things and some sanctions, the Russian authority had to ban the same in the country. Although, the decision was not liked by many influences as it was the primary source of income for many.

Amid this Russia and Ukraine war, the former has to go through many sanctions within the country as many countries are against Russia for starting the war and the Instagram ban is among the major issue which the country is facing. Apart from Meta, many other companies including Google, Microsoft, etc have also levied many bans on the country. But, Russia is not looking back on them and instead of taking steps in order to launch their own services, such as Rossgram
