I Completed my third year of engineering in the field of Computer Science and Engineering at Lovely Professional University. I am sharing my interview Experience with the company named as RazorPay which was an on-campus opportunity through the e-litmus platform for the role of product support engineer intern.

e-litmus is a platform that provides an opportunity to register in the company based on the Ph score the company shortlisted from there I got the mail from my placement cell regarding the shortlisting and I register on the portal. After two days, I got the shortlisted confirmation and I need to confirm it from my side in order to further process. I confirm it and got the mail for the test from the company on my mail.

The very first round of the process was 30 MCQs from domains including Aptitude, Programming, SQL, and Other technologies. The allotted time for the test was 30 minutes and the candidates need to complete the test within the given time.

After few days, I got the mail from my placement cell regarding being shortlisted for the telephonic interview at the RazorPay. It was mentioned that the call will come from the recruiter between 2 pm to 4:30 pm and the call came at sharp 2:40 pm. The interviewer introduces herself and directly asked me about my project. I explained to her a frontend project and she says, there will be another interview tomorrow.

One day after, I got the mail for the interview and the interview was scheduled from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm. I was about to join the meet, suddenly a call from the company came reminding me about the interview and I told her mam I was about to join the meet. This creates a very good impression of the company in my mind.

I joined the meeting and I saw there were two interviewers. They introduced themselves and both were in higher positions and basically from the Product support engineer. They started interviewing me.

The first question they asked me the following questions in the entire process of 20 minutes and I answered them as per my knowledge.

  •  Which Programming Language you prefer?
    • Note: Python was mentioned in my resume. I told them I know the basics part only.
  • What are the different Data Types in Python?
  •  What is the difference between Tuples and Lists?
  •  How to identify tuples and lists?
  •  What is Dictionary in Python?
  • How can we access the values in dictionary?
  • Is it possible to start the index from 100?
  • Now, the sir handed over to mam and now she started asking me question from C++ as I previously told that I Preferred C++ programming language.
  •  What is the difference between Function Overloading and Function Overriding?
    • Then she asked me some related concepts of OOPS in C++?
    • Now , sir again started to ask me about SQL.
  • What is the difference between Delete, Drop and Truncate in SQL?
    • Now mam again asked me.
  • Explain difference between Call by Value and Call by Reference.
  • Now, She asked me about Java.
  • What is the difference between Exception and Error in Java? She asked to explain with an example.
    • Again, Sir asked me some question related to Data Structure and Algorithms.
  •  Which is the best Sorting Algorithm and what is the time Complexity?
  • What are the searching techniques do we have and what is the difference and time complexity?
  • How does Binary Search work?
    • Now Mam asked me about a project that was in the domain of Flutter.
    • I specified to her that it contains UI only as I learned it during my summer Training.
  •  How to Connect any Flutter application with the backend?

The overall experience in the entire interview was very smooth. It was my first technical interview and to some extent I was nervous. I gave all the answers as per my knowledge with proper elaboration and with examples.

At last of the interview, the interviewer asked me, do you want to ask anything of me?

I don’t let go of the chance and asked, Sir How RazorPay works and what is the role of a product support engineer? He explained in 2 minutes and said it generally requires much more time to explain anything.

The interview was over and I was having the intuition of the result.

Two days after, a mail came from the company appreciating my efforts but as a result, I was rejected after the technical interview. I was happy as at least I went up to 3 rounds.

Some tips from my side:

Focus on basics and only basics and try to explain it with full confidence. Have basic knowledge of all domains.

Thank You
