Python – cmath.atan() function

cMath module contains a number of functions which is used for mathematical operations for complex numbers. The cmath.atan() function returns the arctangent value of a complex number. The value passed in this function can be int, float, and complex numbers.

Syntax: cmath.atan(x)

Parameter:This method accepts only single parameters.

  • x :This parameter is the value to be passed to atan()

Returns:This function returns the arctangent value of a complex number.

Below examples illustrate the use of above function:

Example #1 : In this example we can see that by using cmath.atan() method, we are able to get the values of arctangent by passing any value to it.

# for mathematical operations  
import cmath 
    
# using cmath.atan() method 
val = cmath.atan(3
    
print(val)

Output:

(1.2490457723982544+0j)

Output:
