cMath module contains a number of functions which is used for mathematical operations for complex numbers. The cmath.acos() function returns the arc cosine value of a complex number. The value passed in this function can be int, float, and complex numbers.

Syntax: cmath.acos(x)

Parameter:This method accepts only single parameters.

  • x :This parameter is the value to be passed to acos()

Returns:This function returns the arc cosine value of a  complex number.

Below examples illustrate the use of above function:

Example #1 : In this example we can see that by using cmath.acos() method, we are able to get the values of arc cosine by passing any value to it.

Python3

# Python code to implement
# the acos()function

# importing "cmath"
# for mathematical operations
import cmath

# using cmath.acos() method
val = cmath.acos(3

print(val)

Output:

-1.762747174039086j

Example 2:

Python3

# Python code to implement
# the acos()function

# importing "cmath"
# for mathematical operations
import cmath

# using cmath.acos() method
val = cmath.acos(2 + 5j

print(val)

Output:

(1.1961255219693696-2.3830308809003258j)
