PyQt5 QCalendarWidget – Getting Maximum Size

In this article we will see how we can get the maximum size of the QCalendarWidget. Maximum size of the calendar is that size after which it can’t be expanded any further, by default when we create a calendar inside the layout and when the window get extended or shrinks calendar size also increases and shrinks, therefore, there is need to set the maximum size. We can individually set maximum width and height with the help of setMaximumWidth and setMaximumHeight method respectively. We can set the maximum size to the calendar with the help of setMaximumSize method.

In order to do this we will use maximumSize method with the QCalendarWidget object.

Syntax : calendar.maximumSize(size)

Argument : It takes no argument

Return : It return QSize object

        # setting maximum size
        self.calendar.setMaximumSize(QSize(500, 400))
        # creating a label
        label = QLabel(self)
        # adding label to the layout
        # getting maximum size
        value = self.calendar.maximumSize()
        # setting text to the label
        label.setText("Maximum Size : " + str(value))

        widget = QWidget()
