The time I spent at Purushottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School, also known as Saraswat, remains as an unforgettable part of my higher secondary school journey. It was a place where I received excellent education and had the opportunity to grow, form lasting friendships, and develop crucial life skills.

I remember my first day at school, I was feeling nervous as I entered the campus. The huge buildings were overwhelming, but pleasant greetings from the staff quickly eased my anxiety. My classroom was lucky located near the entrance, and once I stepped in, I was shocked by the space of the classroom. The classroom was bright and ventilated which was perfect for a study environment.

I selected computer science as my branch, I soon noticed that there were only a few girls in my class. At the start, this made me a little daunting, but soon, I found that it was a supportive environment. We soon formed groups among us, supported each other through various obstacles in our path.

Throughout my time spent at the school, I was lucky to hold higher post as student. I served as a class representative for two years, which developed my communication skills. I was very lucky to have the honour of being the discipline secretary in the students&#x2019 council, this role shaped my leadership quality. These positions taught me the importance of being accountable, leadership, communication and teamwork.

One of my daily routine at Saraswat was visiting the school’s canteen. It was a great experience for me. My all-time favourite was the tasty samosa. What impressed me even more was the canteen lady’s ability to remember my preferences among the hundreds of students that she served daily.

The school’s campus had a beautiful garden. The school maintained cleanliness by placing dustbins, which promoted a sense of responsibility towards the environment among us students.

We had three well-equipped labs: one was for computer science, one was for physics, and one was for chemistry. While I admit I didn’t visit the biology lab often due to its intimidating feeling, but the staff in all the labs were friendly and was always available to help us whenever we needed help. The computer lab, became my favourite place as I was a computer science enthusiast. Its air-conditioned lab provided me with a comfortable space for learning and working on my projects.

The teachers at Saraswat were the best. They were patient and always understanding, they always answered our questions, no matter how many times we asked the same things. Their determination to our development went beyond the classroom, they took great interest in our extracurricular activities. The strong bond created between the teachers and us motivated us to perform at our best at all the events.

The most valuable aspects at the school were the friendships I made. I met my first true friend here, and her presence added a whole new value to my school life. We not only shared similar interest but also hobbies and passions too. We participated in various activities and competitions together and celebrated each other’s achievements. The bond forged during those years continue to be some of the strongest bond in my life.

The library at Saraswat was huge. It was treasure of knowledge, and also acted as a place to bunk for others. I spent a lot of time reading various books and novels there, which increased my vocabulary and also gave me a habit of reading.

My journey at Purushottam Walawalkar Higher Secondary School was incredible. I had got a lot of opportunities here. I will never forget the memories and lessons I learned here. The school instilled in me values, discipline, and social responsibility towards the society. I thank my teachers and friends for bringing out the best in me and making a better and more confident individual. I will always be proud of being a part of this institution and will always carry the life lessons I learned here.
